The Woodstock Poems: Post Traumtic Press

Dayl Wise started Post Traumatic Press in 2000 to publish pieces by veterans. Now he publishes local poets as well, including my chapbook, My Clone. Everyone who opens the cover in my presence smiles and asks, “What is Post Traumatic Press?”

Post Traumatic Press

Please don’t let the dog out.
Okay, she’ll be back. As I was
Saying
There’s stress everywhere
These days. The community garden
Refuses to relocate
And the community center is
Under renovation.
My friends in the peace movement
Act as if
The town council
Is their enemy and I suppose a
Case could be made about the Memorial Day
Parade, but
Really I wish the dog would come back.
Easter isn’t my favorite holiday.
Saturday is.
Saturday I plan to do nothing.
